What you do everyday matters!
This includes but is not limited to… getting a good night’s sleep, eating healthy, taking vitamins, exercising, reading a book, taking care of your body, taking care of your mind and taking care of your finances, just to name a few.
Your body, mind and soul need to rest. Without a good night’s sleep, you can’t perform.
Your body needs healthy and hearty food. Nourishment is needed by the body through food, supplements, sun exposure, vitamins, etc.
Take 30 minutes a day to ride the Peloton, take the dog for a walk, go for a jog, play some tennis or swing the golf club.
Whatever it is you enjoy… Do something on a daily basis.
Establish a Daily Routine
Accomplish something! That little bit of self-fulfillment means more to you than you actually know. Even if it’s just making your bed or folding laundry… Do something.
Read! It doesn’t have to be a novel. It can be anything… Something informational, something inspiring or something you enjoy that gets you excited.
It’s great to stimulate the mind through reading. You can learn amazing things that you didn’t know!
Take care of your mind, meditate, go to your happy place, find what relaxes you and do it.
It doesn’t have to be physical, but it does need to be peaceful… Perhaps a walk in the woods.
It’s amazing how much clearer you can think with a mind that’s at peace.
Apply Your Routine to Trading
When it comes to your finances, this part is just as important as the others. Don’t trade or make investment choices if you’re not in the right frame of mind.
Make sure your head is clear, your soul is at peace and that there isn’t something bothering you. The last thing you want to do is become an emotional trader!
Before you sit at your trading computer, get all those other things out of the way. There should be nothing distracting you from making your best financial decisions.
If for some reason you’re unable to get to the place where you need to be before you trade, don’t trade.
Tomorrow is another day, and the market will present another opportunity.
I’ve seen too many people try to take revenge for their anger in the market. Let me tell you… That doesn’t end well. The market will humble you like nothing else ever has.
The second you think you own it, it will own you!
Heed my advice… If the rest of your life is a mess, your trading will be as well.
If the rest of your life is in Zen, you’ll have your best chance of thriving in the market.
Rules to Live By
“Listen to the mustn’ts, child. Listen to the don’ts. Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the won’ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me… Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.”
― Shel Silverstein
Until next time, I wish you a beautiful and blessed day!
