Is the Real Estate Market Softening?

There are easy ways to access the real estate market within the stock market, including The Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE).

Many readers may not realize there are easy ways to access the real estate market within the stock market.

One of the easiest ways is to look at The Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE).

The XLRE is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) for the broad real estate market as a whole.

Per my analysis, it has just triggered a shorting opportunity.

Back to Reality

Real estate, much like everything else that has gone wildly out of whack over the past several years, will inevitably correct itself.

After all, what we have experienced over the past several years remains unsustainable.

The printing of money, the demand, the supply chain… It’s all unsustainable!

Let’s take a look at the weakness coming into the XLRE’s chart and where the next support opportunity could potentially be.

The Technical Setup

You can see we’ve settled on a weekly basis 1%+ below the channel support structure which should now be considered newly appointed resistance.

We’ll be approaching slightly ascending support at approximately $37.00 and rising.

This market peaked out around the end of 2021 and the start of 2022.

Like the broader markets, when weakness hits, it hits most assets… real estate included!

Diversify

Real estate is a great way to diversify your portfolio. It’s great to be able to take advantage of appreciation within the market.

However, my preferred way is to own physical, income-producing real estate. I love those first-of-the-month rent checks.

I’ve also dabbled in hard-money financing on real estate as well, and those guaranteed interest payments aren’t the worst thing in the world either.

So there’s lots of ways as investors to articulate this market for profits and income!

Finding ways to leverage real estate as a piece of your investment portfolio is a great way to diversify your money.

Remember… The wealthiest people in the world are invested in three things: Businesses, markets and real estate.

There’s no need to reinvent the wheel. Just do what the wealthiest people do!
