It should not come as a great surprise to hear that The Boeing Company (BA) is still suffering after the past few years we’ve had.
But yet again, there’s another earnings miss on its books. Check out the latest quarterly results in the table below…
But for those of us interested in the opportunity the earnings have created, there’s one transpiring as we speak.
While the fundamentals appear to be the catalyst, this is purely a technical setup.
Where Technicals & Fundamentals Meet
Based on the poor earnings and revenues reported, price action broke through key support.
And on a weekly basis, price settled 1%+ below that support area. So let’s take a look at the chart, the analysis and the trade opportunity…
The weekly settlement offering a 1%+ confirmation transpired on Friday, April 25.
I had set a short entry limit at $148 with an entry stop at $190, which has been advanced to $162 based on recent price action and a descending target at $112.
Help from Mr. Market
It’s not surprising that the overall market weakness recently has helped this trade along, which is perfectly fine!
We like when the market volunteers to help our positions.
When we are “trading,” we have stacked the odds in our favor that the market is likely to travel in the direction which we are betting on it to.
Either it’s going to or it’s not… That’s it!
For BA, so far, price action is cooperating with our expectations.
Of course, there’s still plenty of time for this trade to transpire or change course, but stacking the fundamentals, technicals and overall market pressure in our favor only add tailwinds to this trade idea!
I’ll do my best to keep you posted as thing trade plays out.
Join Us for a Special Session
Now, this approach of combining technical and fundamentals is also utilized by my colleague and expert stock trader Ross Givens inside his Alpha Stocks trading service.
He has plenty of long ideas for the right stocks, but he’s also not afraid to go short when the market calls for that.
He shorts stocks and also provides option alternatives if that’s more of your style.
And Ross gets together with subscribers every Monday for an hour-long live session so that subscribers can ask questions and get guidance about the trades.
